The B.Ed. in Education is a 3-year (6 semester) program whose overall objectives are to instil in future teachers a deep knowledge of educational principles, theories, and practices as well as effective teaching methodologies and strategies. The program will enhance classroom management skills related to assessment and evaluation; foster an understanding of psychological, sociological, and philosophical elements related to education; and inspire professional growth and ethical values among future teachers. The program will further enable graduates to gain the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for teachers. Moreover, it will provide graduates with the knowledge, skills, techniques and competencies necessary in teacher education and their application to teaching in schools, training institutions, and other organizations. It will enable graduates to understand the nature, purpose & philosophy of Education. Finally, it will prepare teachers, education instructors, managers, and planners to serve educational establishments, training institutions, and other organizations and provide quality education that adds value to society.
Successful completion of the program will enable graduates to work as teachers in school as well as assume positions of responsibility as training instructors in a variety of public, private, and non-profit organizations.
