Program Objectives

The B.Ed. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language is a six-semester (3 year) program whose objectives are to develop the skills and expertise that are required in the profession of teaching English. This is achieved through the integration of knowledge in innovation, information technology, modern educational materials, and effective classroom management and related activities to help achieve maximum efficiency in the teaching profession. The program will enable graduate to gain the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for teachers. It prepares English language teachers, education instructors, managers, and planners to serve educational establishments, training institutions and other organizations and provide quality education that adds value to society. The curriculum has been designed to produce professional teachers that are well-equipped with exceptional English language skills, well-rounded knowledge, proper characteristics, integrity, honesty, and life-long learning ability. Successful completion of the program will enable graduates to work as teachers in schools, training institutions and other organizations. Graduates may also choose to pursue Master’s level studies in Education and/or related fields.
