Program Objectives

The objective of the BSc in Nursing is to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary for the practice of the nursing profession. The program will Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses in providing promotive, preventive, curative, restorative and rehabilitative services. It will also prepare them as healthcare professionals who can make independent decisions in nursing situations.

On completing the program graduates will be able to:

  • Have broad concept of the fundamental principles of quality nursing care and demonstrate skill in providing nursing care to people of all ages based on principles of physical, biological, and behavioral science in a healthcare facility.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and decision-making abilities in various nursing situations.
  • Demonstrate skill in teaching and supervising nursing care both in hospital and in community setting.
  • Show knowledge on the latest trends and technology in improving the quality of nursing care.
  • Recognize the need for continued learning, and for personal and professional growth.
  • Be self-driven in evidence-based research studies in various setting to improve the quality of nursing care.

Successful completion of the program will enable students work in many different healthcare institutions and other organizations.
